Social media never slows down, and trends are what keep it moving. For creators and brands, jumping on the right trend isn’t just about going viral; it’s about staying visible, relevant, and in sync with what audiences care about. When done right, trends can seriously amplify reach and engagement.
Our guide will be updated regularly with the newest trends across social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, explaining what’s trending, why it’s working, and how to adapt it to fit your content niche.
NOTE: We claim no copyright ownership of any of the third-party content featured here, as it's featured merely as an educational example. As well, in many audios labeled as original, they may feature copyrighted content from other sources. Make sure you understand that businesses will be limited from using these audios.
Table of Contents:
What are the Current Top Social Media Trends? - Week of March 2nd, 2026
"Soft launching this take"
The trend: Got a hot take you’re not sure will survive the group chat? Soft launch it first. Drop the opinion you lowkey want to test, and see how your friends react.
Use the audio we included and frame it like you’re casually “introducing” the idea before fully committing.
Example:
soft launching texting my ex to my friends 👀
"#youngho"
The trend: Call yourself out for something you do because you’re young, figuring it out, and learning the hard way. Keep it relatable, a little chaotic, and self-aware.
Example:
"abusing salt and pepper on everything cuz macros arent real # youngho"

What are the Current Top Social Media Trends? - Week of February 16th, 2026
"This is beautiful, but it's not that"
The trend: Have you ever had that feeling when you're out exploring something beautiful, like a mountain or the beach, and you're just thinking to yourself: man, this is cool, but I could really go for a Wawa run right now.
This is the trend for you! Have some footage from your last vacation or outdoor exploration on hand, and choose something completely ridiculous to compare it to - whether that be a common chain restaurant or the beautiful and definitely world-renowned Edison, New Jersey (kidding, of course).
Example:
This is so beautiful, but it's no Times Square Raising Canes.
"Do I even know you"
The trend: Describe a situation where you can't be with someone or be seen with someone for a specific reason OR use this to describe problems you keep encountering. Write on-screen what that reason is (preferably in a yellow font).
Example:
"i hate when people don't really see you now because of what someone else said about you"

"The big 3 made it home"
The trend: Have you ever had one hell of a night out and you find yourself lucky to wake up in your own bed? That's the energy this trend is channeling, but with a twist. Choose 3 items to make it home with you. The first one or two can be normal, but the last one should be absolutely outrageous and totally not something you would have had out in the first place.
Some people are using their printers, others are using life-sized cutouts of celebrities - the possibilities are endless, and this is really where the humor and uniqueness of the trend comes through.
Example:
Wallet ✅
Keys ✅
Epson Printer e9000 ✅

"Editing like a reality show"
The trend: The big reason reality shows are so enjoyable is because they're edited to be insanely dramatic. They play it up! This trend encourages you to do the same in your daily lives, with some creators editing their vacations and others editing their winter storm shoveling.
Choose something you have plenty of video footage from, and edit it together alongside this sound (which is very typical reality show drama music)!
Examples:
"Editing our snowed out honeymoon like a reality show"
"Editing my Costco trip like a season finale"
"Editing our first international flight like a reality show"
"I don't know anything"
The trend: Have you ever had to lie for a friend or a coworker about knowing information? Let's face it, we all have at one point or another. For this trend, create a short, funny POV about a moment where you had to “fake it” to protect someone.
Examples:
“When my coworker calls out, and I’m covering for them”
“When someone asks how my friend is doing and I wasn’t briefed”
“When my bestie says ‘back me up’ with no context”

"Please you have to believe me"
The trend: Have you ever had to convince your friend group that you weren't crazy? This trend is you trying to convince them that what you're doing is right and absolutely sane. Choose something relevant to your life and "convince them", and make sure to use the sound.
Beanboozled but...
The trend: You know BeanBoozled. It’s either the best flavor ever or something that should be illegal. This trend turns that into life experiences. Pick your worst “flavor” like a niche reference, a bad take, or a personal L, use the sound, and cough like you’re fighting for your life.

"That's not what the fans wanna see"
The trend: Have you ever seen a post that's made you question why you follow that person in the first place? This trend revolves around celebs and creators posting things they don't wanna see. It sounds like it's super niche, but there's a lot of wiggle room in here for creative takes on it!
Jon Hamm dancing
The trend: Have you ever experienced true bliss? It sorta feels like losing yourself in a nightclub, letting go of all your inhibitions. This trending clip from Jon Hamm's new series is one to vibe with. Film yourself experiencing true bliss in your own way, and then stitch it together with the trending clip!

Why do Trends Matter?
Social media platforms thrive on discovery, with algorithms prioritizing content that aligns with what’s capturing attention in the moment. When you tap into trends, your content is more likely to benefit from increased reach due to algorithmic boosts, helping you appear culturally relevant and in tune with your audience.
Trends also give you an opportunity to show brand personality, connect on a human level, and encourage deeper engagement by leveraging formats that are already familiar to users. However, not every trend is worth pursuing. Knowing when and how to engage with a trend is what separates effective content strategy from noise.
Should I Jump on Trends?
Feeling inspired? You should be. Social media is a constantly ticking clock where something new happens every single moment. By staying ahead of the trends, your content will be more relevant to your audience, and you will also gain a traffic boost from the algorithm.
When done well, jumping on trends can transform your reach, engagement, and community growth in just a few seconds of short-form video. At Advanced Creative Media, we help both brands and creators alike identify, plan, and execute trend-based content optimized for chances at virality. We don't just ride the wave - we lead it.
